JYJ Jaejoong Acknowledges THESE 2 SM Entertainment Idols as His Visual Successors

Among SM Entertainment artists, Jaejoong selected THESE 2 K-pop idols as the ones who continue his visual genealogy in his original company.

On January 23, JYJ Kim Jaejoong appeared as the special guest on Hong Seok Cheon's "Jewelry Box." In particular, the YouTube web show aimed to invite attractive male idols fitting to be called a "gem."

This doesn't only count idols who are already popular but he also embarked on finding hidden "gems" among K-pop stars.

On this day, the two celebrities talked about the unmatched top-notch visuals of the JYJ member. Since he debuted as TVXQ in 2003, Jaejoong has risen as one of the most handsome K-pop idols to date.

In fact, even after he left SM Entertainment, he became one of the company's visual "standards."

In SM, there is a so-called face genealogy/line, such as "M.I.L.K. Seo Hyun Jin - SNSD Taeyeon - Red Velvet Irene," and "SHINHWA Kangta - Super Junior Siwon - EXO Suho."

Jaejoong also leads one, as he is often compared to NCT 127 Taeyong.

In the broadcast, the K-pop icon was asked to personally pick SM idols that continue his genealogy, and he chose NCT Taeyong and RIIZE Wonbin!

Regarding Taeyong, Jaejoong explained:

"The friend I watched very carefully was the one from NCT, Taeyong. When he made his debut, I watched the music video because friends around me recommended it to me saying, 'There is a guy who looks like you.'

After watching it, I could see myself from him. I think it was because we gave off the same vibe."

Selecting someone from the third-gen, Jaejoong continued to choose someone from the fourth-gen era and mentioned RIIZE Wonbin, stating:

"A bit purer version (of me) would be RIIZE Wonbin. He evolved a lot. I haven't even seen their shadows, but I want to meet them."

He added:

"I also saw it (RIIZE's cover of 'Rising Sun'). He did better than me."

In the same broadcast, Jaejoong named SS501 Kim Hyun Joong as one of his visual rivals and added:

"First of all, there is Kim Hyun Joong of SS501. I actually had a lot of rivals, but I have a lot of friends I can't talk about now."

Among SM Entertainment artists before, Jaejoong claimed that he was only second place in terms of best visuals at the time, citing Lee Yeon Hee as the first place.

"At the time, I had an ARS phone audition and I later received a notification that I had passed. They told me to enter the (SM Youth) best contest. I thought I was going to go out based on my singing, but they told me to go out based on my looks."
