YG Entertainment is Supporting BLACKPINK Lisa? Check it Out Here
On December 29, 2023, YG Entertainment announced that Lisa, along with the other BLACKPINK members, did not renew their contracts with the label for solo activities. They are only tied to the company for activities with the group. Outside of their BLACKPINK responsibilities, they are free to sign with other agencies and manage their own activities.
Despite no longer being under YG Entertainment for her solo career, some signs indicate the company may still be supporting the idol.
Dances from YGX and Pheromone Dance Crew, who are under YG Entertainment, recently shared updates of them heading to Paris, France. It is believed they are going to serve as backup dancers for Lisa, who is scheduled to perform at the Pièces Jaunes in Paris on January 26, 2024.
This move shows that even though Lisa is not tied down to YG Entertainment for her solo schedules, the company is still willing to support her solo career.
As mentioned, Lisa will perform at the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes held at Accor Arena in France on January 26. Lisa will be performing at the charity concert, which was organized by the First Lady Brigitte Macaron, to raise funds for The Hospital Foundation.
Back in February 2023, BLACKPINK performed "Shut Down" at the famous Orchester Lamoureux.
Is BLACKPINK Gearing For a Comeback?
Earlier this month, a YG Entertainment staff member shared a video from Jeff Benjamin. Jeff Benjamin, a K-pop journalist most known for his works for Billboard, shared a video revealing he received a signed copy of Jisoo's solo album, "ME." The album was sent to him by Jisoo personally.
What caught people's attention is what the staff member captioned the post. They stated, "Sure that (in) 2024 all eyes (are) on us. Let's make something more this year with our." Due to the secretive nature of the post, people believe YG Entertainment may be working on new activities for BLACKPINK.
Korean media outlets have speculated that BLACKPINK is preparing to make a comeback in the second or third quarter of 2024, followed by a world tour in the fourth quarter. This post has only fueled speculation further.
