What's the reason BABYMONSTER isn't promoting in public even after two months since its debut? A media outlet explained YG Entertainment's decision.
Unlike other rookie girl groups, the new artist BABYMONSTER is yet to appear in music shows and entertainment programs.
As a result, the label has been receiving criticism for not promoting the group. But in an article, the media explained why they aren't "allowed" yet to make public appearances.
Here's Why YG Entertainment Doesn't Allow BABYMONSTER to Appear in Music Shows
In November 2023, BABYMONSTER was launched as a septet through its debut single, "BATTER UP."
As BLACKPINK's little sister who also proved their skills through YG's pre-debut audition, the girl group showed off a strong presence, amassing 210 million views on YouTube in just 2 months. They achieved this without promotional activities.
On February 1, they also unveiled their latest pre-release single, "Stuck in the Middle," but YG also announced that there would be no promotion in music shows for this release.
BABYMONSTER debuted in November last year but is not active yet. Only the digital source and music videos for two songs were released so far and they are yet to be engaged in broadcasting activities.

As a result, K-pop fans are annoyed at YG since it is unusual for a rookie debut to not appear on music programs and various entertainment programs to promote their new songs.
To shed light on this, thebell News wrote an article, stating the reason:
"BABYMONSTER's quiet move is interpreted as a measure to maximize the level of completion of its first mini-album. Artists get busier when they start broadcasting activities. Due to this, they run out of time to prepare for the album and practice singing and choreography. As such, BABYMONSTER is currently working hard on preparing its first mini album, rather than focusing on their pre-release songs."
The K-media continued:
"The reason why the company is putting all of its efforts into its first mini-album is to achieve certain success. YG Entertainment aimed for BABYMONSTER to become a global artist since the planning stage. This means that the company should produce albums that satisfy fans in various countries. Moreover, as the company is known as the successor of BLACKPINK, fans' expectations with BABYMONSTER are very high."
BABYMONSTER Drops Pre-Release Song 'Stuck in the Middle' Ahead 1st Mini-Album Release
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER dropped their pre-release song, "Stuck In the Middle," a pop ballad song that showcases the members' top-tier vocals. As of writing, it has about 5 million views, 12 hours after its release.
Their first mini-album is scheduled to be unveiled in April. During this month, BABYMONSTER plans to launch "aggressive" broadcasting activities which will also mark their official debut.
If their first mini-album becomes a hit, BABYMONSTER's power is expected to grow into a global artist like BLACKPINK.
