ZB1 Kim Jiwoong Caught Swearing Following Fan Call
On February 2, 2024, a user took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a snippet of her fan call with ZEROBASEONE's Kim Jiwoong.
The video shows the end of her fan call with the rookie idol. After waving at the fan, a hand is seen covering the screen. Thinking the call was over, Kim Jiwoong is heard saying "Ahh, shi-," which many believe is short for "sh*bal," a Korean swear word.
The user, @81930287a, captioned the post with, "Is it normal for your bias to go 'Ahh, shi-" after your fan call? I'm not so sure, so I am curious about ZEROSEs opinions."
Fan calls are a new addition to K-pop stan culture. During the pandemic, idols could no longer hold physical fan signs, leading to companies hosting online fan sign events. Here, fans could video call with their idols one-on-one for a minute.

The author commented that idols must hate fan calls, most likely because fans ask them to do weird challenges or say cringe things. The user also commented that it feels like fans would power-trip the idols.
However, reactions to the post were mixed. Some believe that since he is an idol, he is responsible for catering to what the fan wants without complaining. People believe his swearing right after the call is too much and must have hurt the fan.

- "Then don't be an idol."
- "Honestly, it looks tiring, but that's his job."
