Former MOMOLAND Daisy Reveals How She Was Scouted

Daisy revealed she grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and was a ballerina during her youth. However, she was also a huge K-pop fan. She recounts going to YouTube and learning Miss A, After School, and T-ARA choreographies.

Though she loved her life in Canada, her family was forced to move to South Korea when she was 12. At the time, she was devastated. After all, she was active in competitive dance in Canada. However, she adjusted. She enrolled in a middle school in South Korea and started taking ballet classes again.

She then gets into how she was scouted. When she was 15 years old, she was trying to cross the street with her friends after school. Suddenly, a woman who was on the opposite side of the road approached Daisy while they were waiting at the bus stop.

The woman handed Daisy her card and asked if she wanted to audition for the entertainment company she represented.

Daisy gave the woman her number, and she reached out to the ex-MOMOLAND member to inform her of what she needed to prepare.

This was Daisy's first audition, and she had no idea what to expect. She did not even expect to get it; according to her, she was only auditioning so she could say she tried. Daisy attended the audition with her mother, as she was a minor at the time.

Two weeks later, she went to the auditions. She did not prepare a song or a dance, as it was during her midterm season.

For her audition, she performed one of the K-pop dances she learned. When asked to sing, she performed Rihanna's "Take a Bow."

The company then asked Daisy to do more things. For her audition, Daisy performed some ballet to show her dancing skills. After, they played some music and asked her to dance freestyle.

Before her audition ended, Daisy was asked if she could speak English, which she said she could. After her audition, she went to a cafe with her mother to eat. There, she received a call from the company to ask if she was Korean and held a Korean passport.

A few days later, she received a call and was informed she was accepted as a trainee.

Daisy revealed that she believed she was able to pass the audition because she grew up in Canada and could speak English. She also believes she was selected because, although she was raised in Canada, she was born in South Korea and holds a Korean passport. Therefore, the group she would have debuted in would still have a "foreign" member but not deal with visa issues.
