NCT Dream Renjun sparked worries from Czennies after he revealed he went on a diet for THIS heartbreaking reason.
Here's what happened.
NCT Dream Renjun Reveals Doing Fasting To Shed Weight, But His Reason Breaks Hearts
On February 12, the idol went viral after his recent live broadcast surfaced on Nate Pann. There, he talked about his concerns about his appearance that led him to do fasting.
During his interaction with fans in the live stream, he opened up:
"I had gained some fat on my face recently. When I went to promote in China, it was ridiculously swollen. Although it looked fine when I looked at myself in the waiting room, I looked so fat when I saw myself in the photos.
So, I was like, 'Wow, Huang Renjun, you also have this day. You had a big deal."
He went on:
"After that, I had a comeback to film, so I made up my mind and decided that I was going to lose weight unconditionally, so I did fasting and only ate salad."
When a fan then asked him:
"Why are you fasting?"
Renjun answered:
"I hate seeing my appearance reflected in the camera..."
NCTzens Comfort NCT Dream Renjun
In particular, Renjun recently garnered hate comments for his attendance at a year-end ceremony where he was called "ugly" for having facial fats and labeled as an idol that "face card" declined.
When this reached K-netizens, they immediately sympathized with Renjun and attested to him that he looked good regardless of his weight.
"Ugh... I also had a drastic weight gain and at the time, I developed a similar form of social phobia. Since he's an idol who has to show his my at the camera every day, he must have been very stressed. Even though I am not a fan, it must have hurt so much."
On the flip side, Renjun still showed his warm and overflowing love for his fans as he warned them about dieting, emphasizing its negative impact.
"But everyone, doing that is not really a good method. You'll be okay for the first two or three days of doing it, but you will feel like your soul is leaving your body if you keep doing it. Fasting is also impossible, you have to eat a bit including protein and do exercise as well."
