In a broadcast, THIS singer drew attention as she acknowledged that (G)I-DLE Miyeon looks like her. Can they pass as long-lost sisters?

On February 18, KBS 2TV's "Boss in the Mirror" featured Park Ki Ryang, a soloist-turned-cheerleader. As a brief background about her, she debuted in 2016 as a singer with "Lucky Charm."

Park Ki Ryang Reacts on (G)I-DLE Miyeon's Uncanny Similarities With Her

In the show, Park Ki Ryang was shown during her cheerleading team's routine rehearsal with Deep N Dap Mina Myoung.

In particular, the team and the cheerleader were practicing their new cheer song to (G)I-DLE's "Queencard" when Park claimed:

"I've heard that there is someone who looks like me in (G)I-DLE."

Hearing this, Park's teammates agreed and made remarks such as:

"You do look like Miyeon."

Park Ki Ryang, who confirmed that she was aware of the comparison between them continued:

"She does give off that vibe. When she debuted, some articles said Miyeon looked like me a lot. But in my opinion, when I saw her, I didn't think that she looked like me."

Hearing this, Park's teammates disagree and said:

  • "There is definitely a resemblance. Aren't you both incredibly beautiful?"
  • "You do look like Miyeon."

However, Ki Ryang jokingly corrected:

"Since I was born before her, it's more appropriate to say that Miyeon looks like me."

Park Ki Ryang, who is also known for her outgoing personality drew laughter by confidently saying:

"It’s flattering to be compared to someone as pretty as Miyeon. But I don't think that Miyeon who resembles someone as pretty as me is bad either."

Park Ki Ryang Opens Up About Activities as Singer

While Park Ki Ryang initially debuted as a singer before cheerleading, she confessed hardships she experienced that led her to focus on her current career and leave the music scene earlier.

"When I rose to popularity in the past, I was offered to launch an album. I didn't only dance, but I also sang ballad."

She continued:

"At that time, I shared the cost with the company, and it cost 100 million won ($75k). I spent all the money I had saved at that time."

Although she risked all of her savings, her debut wasn't completely well-received by the music industry. She then started anew with cheerleading and confessed she was initially criticized and people predicted that she would fail again.

"More than my debut as a singer, I took on the challenge with the mindset of opening a path for younger cheerleaders, but I am upset because people around me keep telling me that I failed.”

However, she proved them wrong by having a skyrocketing career in cheerleading by working with various teams. Now, she created her name as one of the best cheerleaders.
