CL proves her status as "K-pop's Queen" and "Fashion Icon" by being selected as a judge for the world's largest fashion awards, the "LVMH Prize"!
2NE1 CL Becomes First-Ever K-pop Singer to Join Panel of Judges for 'LVMH Prize'
Since her debut in 2009, CL, the leader of the legendary girl group 2NE1, cemented her position and influence not only in the music scene but also in the fashion world.
Even before luxury brands started choosing K-pop idols as their ambassadors and models, CL had always been working with top-tier designers and companies for her unique and unconventional style and hip yet classy image.
With a 15-year experience in both the music and fashion industries, CL cemented her "fashion icon" status after making another history!
On February 28, the LVMH Prize announced on its official social media platforms:
"We are excited to be joined by CL who will be one of our new experts for this year's LVMH Prize semi-final.
A South Korean performer, K-pop idol, musician, and composer, @/chaelincl is an internationally renowned artist whose success has crossed borders over the years. Let's give her a warm welcome."
She will sit down as a new expert along with fashion professionals including Creative Director Ferdinando Verderi, curator, critic, and art historian Hans Ulrich Obrist, and Stavros Karelis, the founder and Creative and Buying Director of Machine-A.
This is a huge break for CL, as the "LVMH Prize" is the world's largest fashion award organized by the LVMH Group, which is created to discover and sponsor young and creative designers who will lead the future of fashion.
The panel of judges is comprised of 45 experts including LVMH group creative directors and LVHM group management.
In the past, the "LVMH Prize" also featured the late designer Karl Lagerfeld as a judge.
In addition to this, CL is also the first K-pop idol to be selected to join the new experts for the LVMH Prize, a huge indicator of her strong position in the fashion scene.
