HYBE is currently being slammed by netizens due to one of its screening locations for BTS Suga's upcoming "D-DAY" movie.
Here's what happened.
HYBE Under Fire for Showing BTS Suga's 'D-DAY' Movie in Israel
Earlier on March 6, Suga officially announced that he would be releasing a feature film titled, "Agust D Tour 'D-DAY' THE MOVIE."
The upcoming movie will recount the events that transpired during the rapper's "D-DAY" world tour, which spanned across the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
According to sources, the film will be released in theaters and IMAX around the globe on April 10 and 13. Furthermore, the tickets have already started on March 12, which fueled the excitement of ARMYs further.
On the same day (March 12), HYBE Labels released more details about the film screenings, along with its dates and schedules. The company also announced which countries the movie would be shown in, and while the reveal aimed to hype fans, some locations weren't well-received.
On the film's official website, fans spotted Israel as one of the screening locations for "D-DAY," sparking flak among disgruntled netters. The sentiment comes from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip.
The situation has since raised global awareness regarding the death toll that accumulated from the conflict, as well as igniting numerous boycotts of well-known services or food brands.
Upon seeing the screening list containing Israel, fans took their thoughts on social media platform X (Twitter) to vent out against HYBE. They accused HYBE of "prioritizing profit" over human lives and expressed disgust over the company's selection.
