2024 Japan Gold Disc Awards Winners: SEVENTEEN, NewJeans, More Secure Trophies!

On March 13, the winners of the 2024 (38th) Japan Gold Disc Awards were announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, which is also known as the RIAJ. Among all included victors, several K-pop artists managed to claim their wins.

According to the award-giving body's official website, SEVENTEEN took a total of six trophies this 2024. The group won the award for Best Asian Artist, alongside Album of the Year in the Asia category for "FML," their 10th mini album.

"FML" also successfully collected the Best 3 Albums (Asia), together with SEVENTEEN's 11th mini album "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN" and their Japanese compilation album "ALWAYS YOURS." The group's "SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN] JAPAN" also received the award for Music Video of the Year (Asia).

On the other hand, LE SSERAFIM claimed the New Artist of the Year Award (Asia). The group was also included in the Best 3 New Artists (Asia) awards, which were also won by leading rookie K-pop groups NewJeans and RIIZE.

Meanwhile, NewJeans' "OMG," the lead single of their first single album of the same name, took home the trophy for Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia).

The Song of the Year by Download (Asia) was claimed by Jungkook of BTS, with his solo debut single "Seven" (feat. Latto).

The list also included fourth-gen representative Stray Kids, who won the Best 5 Singles for "Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl - Japanese ver.-"

BTS, SEVENTEEN, More Win Trophies at 2023 Japan Gold Disc Awards

In other news, the winners of the 2023 (37th) Gold Disc Awards were revealed by the RIAJ on March 10, 2023.

The list included several artists who made an impact with their music releases and charting across Japan. BTS dominated the list by claiming a total of five awards.

The group secured Best Asian Artist for the fifth consecutive time, and Song of the Year by Download (Asia) for "Yet to Come," the main track of their anthology album "Proof." They also won the Music Video of the Year (Asia) for "BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO."

Moreover, "Proof" won the Best 3 Albums (Asia).
