This 4th-gen K-pop star is being criticized for his participation in BABYMONSTER's 1st mini-album.
But what's the reason for the hate?
On March 20, YG Entertainment unveiled the tracklist of BABYMONSTER's first mini-album ahead of its official release on April 1.
To ensure the successful launch of the group as a septet including its key member Ahyeon, numerous powerful producers have come out and gathered, signaling a strong debut album!
BABYMONSTER's 1st Mini Album Tracklist
In the tracklist poster released on YG's blog, seven songs are introduced, which explore various genres like hip-hop and ballad.
Among them is the title track "SHEESH," as well as the pre-released singles "Batter Up (7 ver.)" and "Stuck in the Middle (7 & remix ver.)"
In addition to this, three new songs will be released for the first time, such as the intro "Monsters" and the b-sidetracks "Like That" and "Dream."
Among the seven songs, the title track "SHEESH" attracted high attention as it is a song that has been in production for a long time.
In order to fulfill and enhance its completeness, powerful producers have worked together, including producers CHOICE37, Sonny, Lil. G, LP, TREASURE Choi Hyun Suk, Sandra Wikström, YG & DEE.P.
The third song "LIKE THAT" also drew interest as the world-renowned singer-songwriter Charlie Puth participated in it. As a global superstar, high attention is being paid to what synergy will bring to BAEMON's mini-album.
TREASURE Hyun Suk Raises Brows for Participating in BABYMONSTER's Album
Amid the delight and excitement of BAEMON's fans, TREASURE Choi Hyun Suk met hateful comments and criticism for being one of the producers to work on BABYMONSTER's much-awaited title track, "SHEESH." He also participated in the rap of its first single, "Batter Up."
Netizens began questioning his skills, and also criticized YG Entertainment for choosing him instead of more popular songwriters and producers.
The girl group fans also complained about why YGE pushed the TREASURE member when BABYMONSTER could also write and produce their own music.
Upon earning hateful comments, TEUMEs and other BAEMON fans called out haters to stop the criticism. The male idol's fans especially defended the idol and pointed out his wide knowledge in songwriting and producing despite being a fourth-gen idol.
As the issue intensified, it turned out that Hyun Suk was being berated not because of his works, but due to his past controversial attitude and remarks.

Nevertheless, there is still a high expectation for BABYMONSTER's album, their first release as septet after Ahyeon returned from her hiatus.
YG Entertainment said:
"Finally, BABYMONSTER's first mini album has been completed with the voices of seven people. It will be an album that will not only show their solid musical capabilities but also the identity of the team that has achieved perfect harmony."
Starting with this album, BAEMON is expected to actively engage with Korean fans by participating in various music programs, broadcasting activities, and fan-signing events.
Starting with Tokyo in Japan, the group will have a fan meeting set to tour five Asian regions, including Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, and Bangkok, Thailand.
BABYMONSTER will also attend "Summer Sonic 2024," Japan's largest music festival.
