NCT Jaemin revealed the reason he once left SM Entertainment when he was a trainee.
On March 21, YouTube channel "DdunDdun" posted a video, titled, "240321 miniPinggyego: Yu Jae Seok, NCT DREAM(MARK, JAEMIN, HAECHAN)." There, NCT Dream recounted stories prior to debuting as idols under SM Entertainment and answered questions regarding their future.
NCT Jaemin Confesses Leaving SM Entertainment as Trainee - But What Was The Reason?
During the interview, Yoo Jae Seok showed curiosity about their trainee life.
“I heard it indirectly, but I know that it's too hard to pass the audition. And even if you manage to enter, there is no guarantee that it will lead to your debut. There are some people who pack their bags and leave."
Jaemin nodded and confessed:
"I packed up and left and went back in a few times."
Making Yoo Jae Seok burst into laughter, the MC asked:
"Why did you pack up, Jaemin?"
Here, the idol revealed the hilarious stories of almost getting kicked out just because he was craving burgers.
"I didn't go back and forth because I wanted to leave, but I got caught ordering a hamburger, so I left for a while and went back in. There were such trivial things."
Hearing this, Mark and Yoo Jae Seok were both astonished that it was only because of a burger but as a senior, Yoo stated:
"From my personal perspective, I can think, 'What was that?' But I also understand that it is inevitable because the company had to manage the group."
NCT Mark Reveals He Originally Thought He Couldn't Debut With Haechan
As the interview went on, Mark and Haechan also revealed that they fought the most as trainees.
Hinting at their personalities, Jaemin and Mark shared that they are both the emotional type F in the MBTI, while Haechan is the rational type T.
Mark recalled one scenario when he clashed with Haechan.
"The other day, we were riding a car together and I admired the sky, saying, 'The sky is so pretty.' But he, Haechan responded, 'What does that have to do with us?' so I was shocked."
The group's leader continued to expose Haechan.
"The person that I fought the most in my life is Haechan. When Haechan was a trainee, he had such a good tension, but he was rather proactive and had a tendency not to fit.
When we were trainees, we worked together a lot so we often clashed and fought the most. I even thought, 'Wow, can I debut with this person?"
Yoo Jae Seok then pointed out that it was only natural to have difficulties in adjusting after growing up in two different environments, and hearing this, Haechan also added:
"If you think about it, it was fun. When I think about it at the time, (Mark) hyung was supposed to do that as the leader, but I was a little out of control."
