In a broadcast, SHINee Key revealed an anecdote about their past dance practice videos taken in the legendary cloud room.
How did they come up with this trend?
On March 27, the latest episode of the YouTube web show, "This Month's Gyewon" featured "Prince of K-pop" SHINee Key visiting the accommodation of the rookie boy group BOYNEXTDOOR.
During the tour, he recalled the story of how the first-ever official dance practice video was born.

On this show, Key immediately inspected the boy group's closet without revealing the owner and teased them.
"It seems like you've arranged it for the filming, right? (I too) thought that the world would collapse if I didn't put on makeup, so I got up in bed will all my makeup done."
As he continued to look into their closet, the senior idol came across a T-shirt with the logos of legendary rock bands.
"These are the kinds of clothes that you buy because you find them pretty, but in the end, it's only a perfect fit for dance practice."

Touching on the topic of dance practice filming, the show's PD showed curiosity as to why idols back then looked really sweaty in their videos, contrary to current dance practice clips where artists still look neat and clean, regardless of complicated choreography.
Looking back, SHINee became viral for their dance practice in a room with clouds and blue sky background. At the time, the clip was a hot topic among K-pop fans and supporters for the members' knife-like movement, and another reason was due to Taemin's iconic "barcode" T-shirt.
Key then revealed:
"Do you know why? We have never released any of our dance practice videos. They've all been leaked. We didn't film it to make it public. If I had done that, Taemin who is a rookie, wouldn't have worn that ridiculous barcode shirt and I wouldn't have had an apple hairstyle."
But rather than taking it negatively, SHINee who went viral thanks to the leaked clips decided to make it official, which became a trend even in the current generation.
"Since those leaked videos went viral, it was only later that it was turned into content to properly film and upload practice videos for the next generation."
SHINee's first-ever dance practice video was uploaded in July 2008 with its debut song, "Replay."
