THIS male idol drew attention after fans noticed that he was keeping a photo of aespa Karina next to his bed. They aren't particularly mad about this - but for another reason.
MONSTA X Keeps aespa Karina's Photo on His Shelf
On March 31, a photo of MONSTA X Minhyuk spread on the X platform, revealing his recent status after enlisting in the military.
In the photo, the idol shows a healthy appearance while he stands next to his cabinet and bed. It can be seen that it was his personal shelf, given the name stuck to it.
After this photo circulated online, it immediately caught fans' eyes for the photos attached to the side of the shelf. Keen-eyed netizens noticed that together with his squad's photos, aespa Karina's photo was glued to it as well!
Normally, this would immediately start a dating rumor between the two idols, but it is impossible since aespa Karina is confirmed to be dating actor Lee Jae Wook in February.
Due to this, K-pop enthusiasts concluded that Minhyuk is actually just showing his love for aespa and his apparent bias, Karina, and it is not even a secret to MONBEBEs that he is a fan of the group.
In the military, there is a culture where men will put photos of girl groups that they like inside their lockers, to encourage them despite the hard training that they are experiencing.
In fact, K-pop girl groups also visit camps and bases to perform and cheer for Korean men who protect the nation.
Why Are MONBEBEs Angry After Seeing Photo?
There is actually no problem with Minhyuk keeping aespa Karina's photo on his shelf, but MONBEBEs (MONSTA X fandom) were angered for another reason, and it was due to the fact that the photo was actually LEAKED.
Since cameras are prohibited in the military, Minhyuk's fans are concerned and terrified about where the photo came from as it also seemed like Minhyuk wasn't aware that someone was taking his photo.
The main source of the photo was @/BBOSONGEEEEE, an X account notorious for illegally sharing photos, videos and screenshots involving K-pop idols.
MONBEBEs are calling for the attention of Starship Entertainment, the agency of the idol to protect its artists, who became victims of privacy invasion.
Fans want the military to investigate as well who took the photo and how it was obtained by the aforementioned party.
