To measure the popularity of K-pop acts this April, the Korean Business Research Institute officially released its newest brand reputation rankings involving rookie idol groups.
The coverage, however, has a limit, since the rankings only included K-pop groups who debuted in 2022 and so on. The institute collected data from March 2 to April 2, and the results were determined by analyzing factors related to online buzz and overall engagement.
Here are the 10 most popular K-pop rookie groups in April 2024!
1. TWS
TWS received a brand reputation index of 3,087,252 for April, which led them to reign the rankings at No. 1.
2. LE SSERAFIM
LE SSERAFIM made it on No. 2 after seeing a brand reputation index of 2,236,570. Aside from their group activities, each member also drew spotlight with their social media updates.
3. ILLIT
With a brand reputation index of 1,509,192, ILLIT, the newly debuted girl group of BELIFT LAB, managed to secure the No. 3 spot. The group is also gaining traction for their success with the title track "Magnetic," alongside their promotions and content.
4. NewJeans
NewJeans made it in No. 4 after successfully gathering a brand reputation index of 1,363, 079. The girl group made headlines for their comeback announcement, as well as their upcoming debut in the Japanese music market.
5. BABYMONSTER
BABYMONSTER received a brand reputation index of 839,160, which led them to round the top five. Apart from gaining buzz by releasing "BABYMONS7ER" and "SHEESH," the group's traction also accumulated due to Ahyeon's return.
6. H1-KEY
According to the list, H1-KEY claimed the No. 6 spot after seeing a brand reputation index of 833,947 for the month of April.
7. ZEROBASEONE
ZEROBASEONE collected a brand reputation index of 763,931 and took over seventh place.
8. RIIZE
RIIZE garnered a brand reputation index of 705,399, placing them at No. 8.
9. PLAVE
In ninth place, the spot was claimed by virtual K-pop boy group PLAVE, who received a brand reputation index of 631,237.
10. NMIXX
Lastly, the tenth place was claimed by NMIXX. The institute revealed that the group received a brand reputation index of 544,799 this April.
