K-Netz Call It 'Luck' That Lee Hyori Debuted in 1st-Gen K-pop Era
As netizens and fans are very wary of idols being accused of school bullying lately, Lee Hyori would have been canceled for saying this, and her past student life would have caused a huge turmoil.
Thus, K-netizens are stating that she is "very lucky" that she debuted as a first-gen idol, an era where jokes were meant to be jokes and people weren't as sensitive.
But since the Hallyu wave has taken a global turn, K-pop idols nowadays must also take into consideration the feelings and culture of local and international fans.

Since no one came forward, people concluded that it must have been just a joke from Hyori for the show's entertainment.

In May, she will appear on JTBC's 'Mom, Do You Want to Travel Alone with Me" a road movie-like variety show together with her mother.
