iKON Bobby & Chanwoo Confirmed To Enlist In Military On THESE Dates, 143 Releases Statement

On April 6, 143 Entertainment released an official statement, announcing the military enlistment dates of iKON members Bobby and Chanwoo.

According to the announcement, 143 Entertainment first expressed its gratitude to iKONICs, who have always supported iKON in their journey. It then shared that Bobby would be enlisting on May 21, while Chanwoo would be making his enlistment on May 27.

143 then encouraged fans to support the idols during and after they had completed their mandatory military service. Furthermore, the agency clarified that no official events would be held on the day of their enlistment to prevent safety risks caused by congestion in the area.

Information Regarding iKON Bobby and Jung Chanwoo's Enlistment

Hello. This is 143 Entertainment.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to iKONIC for always giving endless support and love to iKON.

We are here to inform you that member Bobby will enter the military training center on the 21st of May, and member Jung Chanwoo will enter the training center on the 27th of May.

We kindly ask for your support and encouragement until the day Bobby and Jung Chanwoo return from the military after completing their national defense duties wholeheartedly.

In addition to this, no separate official events will be held on the day of their admission (to the military). We ask for your consideration that the entrance will be held privately to prevent safety accidents, which can be caused by on-site congestion.

Thank you."

iKON Leaves YG Entertainment Following Contract Expiration

In other news, iKON left their longtime agency YG Entertainment on December 30, 2022.

The six members, namely Kim Jinhwan, Bobby, Song Yunhyeong, JU-NE, DK, and Chanwoo, all decided not to renew their exclusive contracts with the agency. The decision was ultimately concluded based on the mutual agreement of YG and iKON members.

However, YG assured fans that iKON would continue their group activities in the future. It then shared that iKON would also do their best to interact with fans through their official SNS.

"The six iKON members would still be promoting together as a group in the future," YG shared. "They will also continue to communicate with iKONICs in social media, including Weverse."

The company then thanked iKON for their hard work and expressed support for the group in their endeavors. Moreover, YG thanked iKONICs for their dedication to iKON.
