Past Girls' Generation Performance of 'Lion Heart' Goes Viral
On April 16, 2024, a post titled "The Girls' Generation stage in China that was so clearly sang with a mic" was posted to the well-known South Korean online community forum TheQoo.
The original poster shared a video of Girls' Generation performing their hit song "Lion Heart." The video was from when the SM Entertainment girl group performed at Jiansu Satellite TV's Year of the Monkey Sprive Festival Gala.
After the post made its rounds, Korean netizens rushed to the comment section to praise Girls' Generation for their live vocals.
People claimed the girl group sounded identical to the digital version despite singing live. All the members were good and stable, and they were praised for their ability to perfectly harmonize. Korean netizens claimed the performance lives up to their legendary status, and stated that this was normal during Girls' Generation's heyday.
People also commented that, at the time, Girls' Generation members that leaned more towards dancing or rap received an immense amount of hate for being unable to sing. However, comparing the vocals of those members with those of active fourth-generation idols, netizens state the vocals of the former are more stable.
