GOT7 Bambam is KFC Thailand's Latest Spokesperson
It is believed that Bambam has signed an endorsement deal with KFC, sparking immense backlash.
It all started on April 5, 2024, when KFC Thailand retweeted a post promoting the K-pop idol's concert in Bangkok, Thailand. This was considered odd, as the post they retweeted had no mention of KFC or fried chicken.

However, on April 18, 2024, it was announced that KFC would be teasing a new spokesperson, or a new "Friend of KFC Thailand." Their post included a green heart emoji and an emoji of a snake. The green heart is often associated with GOT7, while the snake emoji is used to represent Bambam.
Before the official announcement, some noted that they spotted in-person advertisements for KFC featuring Bambam. In these ads, KFC Thailand is introducing a new meal with Bambam, which will include limited edition packaging for the idol's meal. The KFC Thailand website has also been edited to mimic Bambam's current aesthetic.
GOT7 Bambam Garners Flak for KFC Endorsement
While some fans in Thailand are supportive of his latest brand deal, international fans are upset that the idol chose to partner with KFC. Since October 2023, many people have decided to boycott brands associated with Israel amid the Israel-Palestine conflict.
As a result, several popular brands, including fast-food chains, have been identified as things people should boycott. This includes Yum Brands, the parent company of several popular fast-food chains such as KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut.
With the boycott still underway and Bambam's latest endorsement deals, many Ahgases are upset that Bambam is promoting a brand that has supported Israel amid the war. Due to their problematic ties, fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to tweet at Bambam and his company to terminate his contract with KFC Thailand.
While some are saying that Bambam should not be hated for his brand deal, others are not as sympathetic. Bambam is known as an idol who spends a considerable amount of time online, meaning he has likely seen people mention the boycott on social media.
Currently, the idol has not spoken up on the matter.
