After 3 years, Kep1er will sadly part ways in THIS month.
On April 25, Star News released an exclusive coverage that Kep1er (a K-pop girl group comprising Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Mashiro, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Bahiyyih, Young Eun, and Yeseo) will end their 2-year and 6-month journey.
Kep1er's Agreement for Contract Extension Falls Through, Group to Disband in July
Kep1er rose to popularity when Mnet held an audition program, "Girls Planet 999," which ended on October 2021.
Through the show, a multinational girl group project was created, composed of 9 members of various nationalities: 6 Koreans, 2 Japanese, and 1 Chinese.
When they released their first mini-album, "FIRST IMPACT," in January 2022, they received remarkable results beyond Korea. They especially rose to fame in Japan, thus extending their music to the global market.

Unfortunately, the girl group project only has a limited activity period of 2 years and 6 months, and it is set to expire in July 2024.
With their influence and power and limitless potential, the key executives from all the members' agencies called for a meeting starting in 2023 to discuss extending the project activities period.
Wake One, the agency handling Kep1er, also hinted at fans its possible contract extension, saying:
"We will continue to negotiate with each other to extend Kep1er's activities."
Kep1er was anticipated to become the first idol group formed through a survival show that would be able to extend contract. With this, not only Wake One, but the members and their agencies were positively looking at the possibility of extension.
But the sad news came in that the agreement eventually fell through, and Kep1er decided to dissolve in July.

There is also a probabilit that Shen Xiaoting, Hikaru, and Mashiro, who are foreign members, will return to their homelands to start anew.
On the other hand, before they part ways, Kep1er is preparing various activities to say their final goodbyes to their fandom, Kep1ians.
