BABYMONSTER Ahyeon Draws Mixed Reactions for Her Vocals: 'She's Always Screaming'

Amid the praise BABYMONSTER is earning for their CD-like live vocals, Ahyeon irritated some K-pop fans with her voice, and questioned why she was given more lines than the other members.

BABYMONSTER Ahyeon Raises Brows for Vocal Tone: 'Why Is She Always Screaming?'

On April 29, an internet user took to X to release frustration over the criticism Ahyeon is receiving for her singing tone.

As a result, supporters of BAEMON then conveyed their love for the rookie star, pouring cheering messages.

After re-debuting with "SHEESH" earlier on the 1st, BABYMONSTER carried out various promotional activities on music shows, entertainment programs, YouTube guesting and radio appearances.

While they were initially "overshadowed" by other groups like ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM in terms of music quality, BAEMON cemented their position in the K-pop scene with their live stages flaunting their oozing charisma, impressive dance, and top singing abilities.

Recently, they created another trend in the K-pop scene by singing live with handheld microphones on Mnet's "M Countdown" rather than the usual singing accompanied by AR.

They undoubtedly tore up the stage with their stunning visuals, outstanding voice, harmony, rap skills and sizzling presence.

Amid this greatness, there are still netters who aren't satisfied with the group and criticized Ahyeon for allegedly "screaming" while singing.

Apparently, there are internet users who are unimpressed with Ahyeon's magnificent high notes, describing it as "loud a*s voice" and "annoying."

Not only her voice, but some are also "irritable" when watching her dynamic facial expressions and raised brows at her for having more exposure and lines than the other members.

BABYMONSTER Fans Defend Ahyeon From Criticism

When the OP's post gained attention, Ahyeon's fans jumped to her defense and emphasized that "hate is so forced."

Fans pointed out that Ahyeon has really good voice control but given the nature and genre of the song, music fans clarified that she is not "screaming," but rather is "belting."

While some supporters understand that not everyone may find her vocal tone pleasant due to varying preferences, Ahyeon's fans were disappointed that some K-pop stans who are not even BAEMON fans were "laughing" at the rookie in private.

BAEMON fans are also open to positive criticism and sincerely hope for Ahyeon's improvement, but they can't tolerate other people being "rude" to her.
