SEVENTEEN Fan Account's Criticizing Haechan Stirs Online Debate— 'Please Think Before You Tweet'

In a recent episode of NCT's Muk2U, a YouTube series hosted by Doyoung and Haechan, SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan and Jeonghan made a surprising appearance, revealing a deeper friendship between the two groups than many fans had anticipated.

The episode also featured NCT member Jungwoo as a special MC, further solidifying the bond between the two K-pop groups.

While fans were delighted to witness the camaraderie between SEVENTEEN and NCT members during the episode, a post from a popular SEVENTEEN fan account stirred controversy online.

"There's nothing really set so I guess the two of them kept trying to keep the conversation going. Also CARATs (myself included) are used to a more clean and structured hosting style...Lolol but the last ten minutes wasn't that bad, right? I guess I need to at least make this part meaningful.But Haechan, why did you come on the show? I, too, will write a hate comment."

The post, which criticized Haechan's participation in the show, sparked backlash from fans of both groups.

The fan account, known as hae22, received criticism for its negative remarks about Haechan, with fans expressing disappointment in the account's public display of negativity.

The comments were perceived as unwarranted and disrespectful, particularly given the collaborative nature of the show. Following the backlash, hae22 issued an apology letter online, acknowledging the hurt caused by their remarks and expressing remorse for their actions.

I wish to extend my sincerest apologies for the thoughtless comments I made during my recent interaction on social media. While watching the NCT's Muktuyu content uploaded yesterday, I was chatting with a mutual who uses a private account, and I left a tweet containing something hurtful to the hc fans and the singer by mentioning [I'm also leaving a bad tweet: Why is ㅎㅊ there?], and I apologize for these inconsiderate words to Ha*chan and his fans. I sincerely do. When I said 'also' in the context, it wasn't a bad comment from a friend I was talking to, but rather an inadvertent comment I made by playfully imitating something that ended up going with the 'why did you even come out' tone. After I reflected on it I realized it was crossing the line. Although the tweet didn't mention hc's full name but only initials, I assume it was possible to guess who it was from the circumstances, so I think fans who were searching by initials got very upset. I sincerely apologize for this whole mistake I've made. I now fully realize I should have been more thoughtful and considerate in this public space. Again, I am sorry for Ha*chan and his fans. If I may, however, if you type in and search my account name, you'll find countless death threats, suicide calls, and unspeakable language. I'll be careful not to let anything bad happen again, so I hope you'll accept my insufficient apology and halt the personal attacks and violent insults to my family. (To those HC fans who have reached out with kindness and understanding, I am genuinely grateful. Your willingness to educate me has not gone unnoticed, and I am committed to learning from this experience. However, some NCT fans found the apology lacking in sincerity and criticized the account for not taking full responsibility for their words.
