Reports of CL meeting up with YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyuk Suk have fueled rumors of a 2NE1 reunion.
Since this encounter took place before the 15th anniversary of 2NE1, a girl group previously under YG Entertainment, fans are especially excited about a potential reunion.
On May 17, entertainment insiders claimed that CL and Yang Hyun Suk recently reconnected and had a lengthy conversation. According to several news outlets, the meal between 2NE1 producer and YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk and 2NE1 leader CL ran far longer than expected.

While the contents of their conversation were not made public, fans expect it has something to do with 2NE1, as they celebrated their 15th anniversary on May 17. BLACKJACKs are convinced that their meeting was not just to catch up, especially noting CL's deep affection for 2NE1.
Following reports, YG Entertainment released a short statement, stating they "cannot confirm" the details of the matter.
2NE1 debuted on May 17, 2009, under YG Entertainment. The group is composed of CL, Park Bom, Sandara "Dara" Park, and Gong Minzy. The group immediately became household hits with chart-topping hits such as "Fire," "Don't Cry," "I Am The Best," "Ugly," and "Hate You."
Gong Minzy left YG Entertainment in May 2016, and though YG Entertainment stated she left 2NE1 at the time, she has been seen with the group several times after her departure.
2NE1's last release was "Goodbye" in January 2017, marking their disbandment. Though they disbanded, and all the members eventually left YG Entertainment, the members have insisted they are still a group.

In 2022, the girl group made their first official performance, seven years after their disbandment. The girls had fans stunned with their surprise performance at the Coachella main stage.
On May 17, 2024, CL shocked fans by sharing a new group photo of 2NE1 to celebrate their anniversary. This is the first time in two years since the group shared new photos together. Other members also shared photos from their time together as a group, showcasing their close bond.
