Bunny Rages Online Regarding NewJeans' Plagiarism Accusations: 'I'm So Dumbfounded'

The plagiarism allegations surrounding NewJeans have continued to persist on the internet.

On May 22, a fan established an online forum titled, "I Wrote This Post Because I'm Dumbfounded At The 'Proofs' Of NewJeans' Plagiarism."

The author then started the thread by bringing up the newest comparisons between NewJeans and the 90s Mexican girl group Jeans, which surged across social media. OP discussed the baseless "copying" accusations, styling similarities, and parallel choreographies.

"I am pretty noob when it comes to the style of writing or album designs, so I won't comment on those aspects. But no, people are really bringing up their outfits and hairstyles lol."

"This photo was used to claim that NewJeans was copying the Mexican group. I'm sorry, but using a bandana scarf as a top is a major trend."

"Can you see? Just by looking it up, you'd receive countless photos of it. The one that the Mexican group wore was down to their waist while Hanni's only covered her ribs. If you can't accept that, then you should be calling this one out too."

"It's just a f**king common coordi. People also said they had similar hairstyles. But do you guys really think that anyone with two buns on each side of their head is copying them?

If you look at the photos, Danielle's hair was tied into a ribbon-like shape and the person from Jeans only has a normal bun."

"That's right, I concede this a hundred times and pretend we're on the same page. Then are we going to say that everyone with the same hair is plagiarizing? You guys claim that the long straight hair isn't owned by anyone, but the same thinking doesn't apply to the Pucca hair?

What's worse is that there's nothing else from their coordi that's overlapping except for the hair (assuming that the hair is an overlap).

Also, I want to ask if you think of NewJeans while watching 'Cloverfield' (it's a horror movie filmed on a recorder)."

"And this train dance. They were just rocking back and forth on their unsteady feet. Look at 1:40."

"You're asking why I wrote this? I'm just a person who gets upset when logic becomes weird. I am a weird person."

Here's how netizens reacted to the post:

  • "These part-timers only posted screenshots."
  • "Isn't NewJeans' negative virality insane? They are taking a screenshot from 1 moment to force the plagiarism accusations. how is this plagiarism? It was just f**king evil."
  • "Do you know why? Because it was a negative virality!"
  • "I'm a designer and the font of the logo is f**king common. It was just any other retro font, if you go to a website like 'dafont, you'll find countless fonts like that."
  • "To be honest, everyone knew that this started in order for NewJeans to get hate. The things they brought up were so different from NewJeans that it gave me 0 dopamine."
  • "I think this type of stuff only becomes a problem when it's a combination of stuff that looks similar."
  • "Of course, everything on its own can always be a trend. Anyway, this is getting boring."
  • "I think the point is, MHJ was coming at other groups for supposedly copying NWJNs when she didn't come up with anything original herself. She took inspiration from somewhere else like everybody else."
