Crush's Performance at University Music Festival Sparks Viral K-pop Meme

Following his performance at AKARAKA, a new meme of soloist Crush is going viral in South Korea.

On May 26, Crush posted on his Instagram account about his experience performing at the Yonsei University festival AKARAKA.

In the caption, Crush wrote, "I was happy for the two days with AKARAKA. Today, I went in place of Jiho. It rained so much it reminded me of eight years ago."

In the photos he posted, Crush is seen performing despite the pouring rain. The soloist drew attention to his wet hair, which was soaked by the rain.

Previously, in November 2016, Crush performed in a downpour during a KBS1 "Open Concert," which became famously known as one of the"'four major downpours in the music industry."

At that time, while singing the song "Sometimes," it started pouring down hard. Unable to see clearly due to the rain streaming down his face, Crush couldn't help but burst out laughing as he performed.

What was especially memorable was when he wiped the rain off his face, and the lyrics "Why are tears coming out today?" and "Tonight is unusually cold" coincidentally matched the situation, creating an extremely hilarious moment. It became a viral meme in South Korea for years.

With the recent AKARAKA performance also taking place under heavy rain, netizens were reminded of Crush's old meme. People are now saying that this new photo can replace his 2016 meme, giving birth to a new iconic moment featuring Crush.
