Joy Complains About SM's Silence Ahead of Red Velvet's Comeback: 'Did They Forget?'

On Bubble, Red Velvet Joy expressed her frustration as SM Entertainment seemed to not promote their upcoming 10th-debut anniversary and comeback with a mini-album.

Earlier, ReVeluvs (Red Velvet's fandom) took to the fandom-communicating platform to ask the members about the plan regarding their 10th-debut anniversary in August.

Most of the time, agencies update on such significant celebrations around 2 or 3 months ahead, letting fans know about possible album releases, fan meetings and concerts.

However, there is a growing concern lately among the fandom as SM Entertainment is not making any noise about Red Velvet.

It turns out, it's not only ReVeluvs who are feeling agitated about it but even the members themselves, including Joy.

In her message to fans, she expressed confusion, saying:

"No, but I am curious as well. If you're going to search, 'Stars who are coming back in June!!' there are various groups will will come out, right?

Meanwhile, there are also teams from our company who will appear."

Joy started to complain:

"Why aren't they aware of us? Until when it will be kept a secret? Or did they forget to let the people know? Or they can't? Or maybe they will release it next week? I'm also questioning."

When a fan replied:

"No, they can forget about other things, but this is a comeback for your 10th anniversary."

Joy agreed, commenting:

"Me too, I'm quietly agree...ing."

When these messages spread among netters, a lot were clueless that Red Velvet was actually coming back in June, nor they are aware that the group would release an album.

With this, fans are complaining about SM's lack of effort to promote the girl group, also giving them just a mini-album although it is a 10th debut anniversary comeback. Commonly, groups celebrating their first decade as a group would release a full album of greatest hits album, but this is not the case for Red Velvet.

  • "Among the centers, Center 3 has the least groups, so why can't they do their work?"
  • "It's coming out in June and there's still no promotion? It's June now? Shouldn't the album be pre-ordered, too, by now?"
  • "It's Red Velvet's 10th anniversary. Isn't it too much not to care about it?"

Meanwhile, on June 2, it was revealed that the group is already working on their album and is already in the process of filming their music video.

However, this news didn't even come from SM, but fans were made aware of it through Red Velvet Joy's show, "Animal Farm."

During the broadcast, Shin Dong Yup announced:

"Unfortunately, Joy was unable to participate in the recording as she's currently filming the music video for Red Velvet's 10th anniversary mini-album."

She is expected to take a break from the show for two weeks.
