A post from X platform became a hot topic in Instiz after the OP found out that the label of LE SSERAFIM, Source Music, is trying to sue people who criticized the group's live singing skills as well as those who accused them of plagiarism.

Based on the documents retrieved from a foreign court, the five members under the label requested the foreign court for Google LLC to share the personal information of two YouTubers who created malicious videos about the group.

SouMu gave initial proofs showing the content of @/issuefeed accusing the group's song, "SMART" of being plagiarized from Tyla's "Water." The second channel was @/ Short Chajang, which uploaded shorts criticizing the group's singing skills at Coachella.

The application was filed on May 31, but on June 5, it was rejected by the foreign court.

The OP then said that it is most likely rejected because, unlike Jang Wonyoung's case with Sojang, Source Music only reported channels that created criticism videos, rather than those who are defaming the members.

When K-netz learned about this, they weren't impressed by this move of Source Music and instead, it earned LE SSERAFIM more backlash.

Earlier, Source Music announced that they were going to sue people who wrote malicious and sexually harassing comments about the members, without leniency, which fans supported.

However, they were shocked that the label also tried to silence those who gave criticism over the members' skills, saying that it was "embarrassing."

Even fans were baffled that rather than making the group improve their vocals and prove these critics wrong, they are instead exerting their efforts to sue people who told LE SSERAFIM that "they can't sing."

Web commenters then called out Source Music to focus on those accounts spreading fake rumors and malicious videos about the group, than the aforementioned cases.

Here are the comments:

  • "Know how embarrassing it is to sue over the plagiarism controversy and the controversy over your live singing skills."
  • "No, this is really something else. I thought they were filing a complaint against a malicious comment, but this is the first time I've seen someone file a complaint for something like a controversy over their abilities. So, personal information has been refused. This isn't a malicious comment, but is it a way to silence criticism or what?"
  • "I support filing a complaint, but it should only be in the scope of malicious comments, rumors, or sexual harassment. I haven't seen those shorts, but you shouldn't file a complaint against those titles?"
  • "Wow, what a disgrace."
  • "Instead of working on their vocals, they are instead suing people who say that they can't sing. That's exactly why their request was rejected. Imagine being the judge and some people ask you to reveal someone's identity because they told you they can't sing at Coachella."
