After having an extramarital affair with a married man, this 25-year-old Japanese idol (introduced by Brave Brothers) publicly apologized.
On June 12, a Japanese news outlet Weekly Bunshun reported about Japanese idol Murashima Miyu and professional basketball player Fuji Yuma's forbidden love affair.
In particular, the affair has long speculated by media and fans since 2022, claiming that their relationship started after meeting at the basketball stadium.
In 2021, Murashima Miyu started serving Fuji's team, Kawasaki Brave Thunders, as its assistant MC, or the one responsible for organizing cheering events before the start of the game.
Since then, they were spotted together often, and on June 2, they were caught leaving an apartment side by side wearing masks. Fuji was also holding a drink that Miyu bought the day before.
Their relationship was then confirmed by an official from Thunders, and the player's acquaintance made a shocking revelation that they were having a relationship despite Fuji being married.
"Yuma Fuji married a non-celebrity woman five years ago. It has not been announced publicly, but club officials are aware of it.
Fuji and his wife have two children, and they have been married for the past four years.
Until last month, his wife even came to watch the game with their children."
On the same day then, the two parties involved took to their social media platforms to announce their respective positions.
Starting with the basketball player, he said:
"I apologize for causing a lot of inconvenience and worry to fans and officials. My careless actions have disappointed everyone. I am truly reflecting.
This report has resulted in damaging the trust of my family, fans and the basketball community. I will work responsibly to restore everyone's trust."
The Japanese idol Miyu also bowed her head, saying:
"I deeply apologize for causing trouble to my family, officials and fans due to my careless actions. From next time, I will act responsibly so that everyone can support me with favorable eyes."
Miyu's agency added:
"There have been reports in certain weekly magazines about Murashima Miyu, who is affiliated with our agency.
In response to this, we as her agency have issued a stern warning to her for her reckless behavior."
Miyu made her idol debut in 2016 as a member of the dance vocal group "CHERRSEE" produced by the K-pop composer, Brave Brothers. She left the team in 2020, while the group eventually disbanded in 2021.
After that, she became a gravure idol (model) for magazines, noted for her looks and physique. She also became known as the "No. 1 God Body of the reiwa era."
