During her appearance on a web show, TWICE member Nayeon revealed whether or not GOT7's Bambam asked her out.
On June 18, the latest episode of Jonathan's web show "The K-Star Next Door" was uploaded to YouTube. For this episode, TWICE's Nayeon appeared as a guest to promote her second solo mini-album, "Na," and its lead single, "ABCD."
During the show, they talked about GOT7's Bambam, who publicly revealed that he had a crush on her while they were trainees. It has become common knowledge for K-pop fans that Bambam had a one-sided love for Nayeon before they debuted in their respective groups.
During the show, Jonathan asked Nayeon, "Did Bambam reveal his heart to you at the time?" Nayeon responded that he did, stating, "I think so. I talked about it when I met up with him recently. Everyone knew that he liked me. It became a meme."
Jonathan then asked how Nayeon felt when he asked her out. There, the female idol revealed that he actually never asked her out despite his obvious crush on him!
She explained why, stating, "The thing was that he was too young back then. Other guys that that he was cute and made fun of him, and it became a huge joke."
During the show, she also talked about her ten-year experience as an idol and a member of TWICE.
Nayeon opened up about being considered a senior in the industry. One unique thing about becoming a senior idol is how close their dressing room becomes to the stage. "It's been a while since we got close to the stage, but every time we close a show with so many artists around, I'm amazed that we're the seniors," she commented.
Since she is now a senior idol, Nayeon admits that she no longer feels nervous before performances. "I used to be nervous before live broadcasts, but now I might head straight up after a meal."
During one broadcast, Nayeon's inquiry to the audience about the song "Cheer Up" sparked irritation among fans. She explained, "It was meant to be a discussion about the song's achievements, but suddenly I felt awkward. I wondered if it was possible they didn't know the song."
In response, Jonathan humorously noted, "There’s a fan comment saying, ‘If you don’t know this, you were either in jail or a spy back then. Who doesn’t know 'Cheer Up'?"
Out of all TWICE songs, Nayeon expressed her fondness for "Alcohol-Free" as her favorite TWICE summer song and also mentioned enjoying "Dance The Night Away." When Jonathan attempted to hum the song, he accidentally hummed a Red Velvet song! Nayeon feigned offense, leading Jonathan to joke, "I'm not a spy."
Known for her flexibility in dance, Nayeon admitted, "Actually, the members dislike the crab dance move," referencing the choreography for "Alcohol-Free." She revealed that recently, the members have asked to have it removed from the routine.
TWICE continues to hit new highs in their career despite being active for ten years. They became the first K-pop girl group to perform in an LA stadium and to break tour sales of $100 million. Jonathan praised TWICE for continuously evolving despite generational changes in the K-pop industry.
