On June 19, one of the most relevant public opinion research organizations held a survey among 1,777 South Koreans across the country (excluding Jeju Island) to determine their favorite stars in various fields, such as singers, drama, movies, comedians, and more.

The data were gathered from March 22 to April 5, and the respondents were people aged 13 years old and above.

Among the results then, the rankings for Koreans' "Favorite Singer" drew the attention of K-pop and music fans the most, as this is a significant factor in determining the current perception of people outside the K-pop community who are the most popular idols.

Among the Top 10, only 4 K-pop idols entered the rankings, with IU, ranking as the highest. She received 9% of the votes and ranked second place, after trot and ballad singer Lim Young Woong.

In Korea, she's known as the "Nation's Sweetheart" and one of the representative singers who made waves for her megahits "Celebrity," Eight" (PROD. SUGA), "Love Wins All," and more.

Recently, she concluded her "H.E.R.E.H" in Korea, which was filled with not only fans of all ages but also top-tier celebs, proving her influence.

Based on the survey, most of her votes came from men, teens, and those who are in their 30s.

Following the singer-actress, BTS ranked 3rd, earning 4.9% of the votes. This is a huge sign of their unrelenting fame, given that most of the members are currently serving in the military.

With leader Jin's recent discharge, there is a high expectation of what kind of impact will bring in South Korea as he represents the group as a soloist.

Among fourth-gen groups, only NewJeans was selected as the most loved girl group with 3.5% of the votes, ranking 5th.

This is truly an outstanding achievement as they only debuted in 2022 yet they are attaining outstanding achievements and recognition.

In particular, they especially established their position in the global music scene since their debut with their hits, "Hype Boy," "Super Shy," "Ditto," and more.

BLACKPINK secured the last seat and ranked 10th place with 2.2%.

Although the group hasn't released any new music as a team in 2 years, they continued to cement their popularity with their world tour, "BORN PINK."

Currently, they are solidifying their respective careers after leaving YG Entertainment. The label announced that there will be no group comeback that will happen this year; however, the quarter is reportedly preparing for a special event to celebrate their 8th debut anniversary with BLINKs.
