ILLIT recently shared a behind-the-scenes video documenting the production of their debut mini-album, "Super Real Me." Amid their rising popularity, ILLIT has faced accusations of plagiarizing NewJeans, while also facing criticisms over their performance skills.
Despite being immediately viral upon debut, the group has been heavily criticized for their "weak" vocals. The criticism was especially strong with Moka, Wonhee, and Irona, leading to intense scrutiny of their ability to perform live.
The behind-the-scenes footage sparked curiosity among fans, highlighting the challenges ILLIT faced during the recording process. The one that caught viewers' was the group's youngest member, Iroha, who was visibly emotional due to the demanding recording sessions.
Despite receiving both guidance and positive comments from the producers, Iroha appeared frustrated that she couldn't get her line quite right during the recording of "Midnight Fiction." The mini-album features catchy, youthful melodies with straightforward vocal lines designed to be easy to sing along to. However, the group struggled to showcase the emotions and concepts of the songs fully and relied heavily on guidance from their producers and vocal coaches.
When she debuted, Moka received attention for her vibrant stage presence and visuals during promotions. However, her live performances revealed her unstable vocals and the idol garnered criticism for her talents. Moka sadly earned the reputation of being one of HYBE's weaker vocalists.
In the studio, Moka's challenges were obvious. She was often told to repeat lines and instructed on how to sing by the producers. During the video, she revealed that she found the Korean pronunciation difficult and that it would take her an hour to complete one line.

On the other hand, Minju and Yunah demonstrated their strong vocal capabilities. Wonhee, despite only a month of training, adapted well and was praised for fitting the group's concept and musical style perfectly.
