On June 21, fourth-gen leader STAYC made their appearance at the Gimpo International Airport, in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, where they departed for Japan. SWITHs were delighted to see the girls at the location, as the members took their time waving to the fans and press.

 

However, one moment managed to garner attention from the K-pop community. Various clips online showed members a fan greeting J by saying, "Long time no see, J," causing the idol to wave back.

But the fan didn't seem satisfied with the gesture, causing her to comment, "What's up with that greeting?"

This caused J to be visibly confused with the fan's remark, which the latter reiterated once again to the idol.

Upon hearing the fan's comment again, J returned with a more expressive wave.

Fan: "What's with that greeting?"

J: (confused) "Hmm?"

Fan: "What's with the greeting just now?"

J: (waves back again)

The clip immediately became a hot topic online, as netizens criticized the fan for being an "entitled" individual. The interaction also sparked an online post in a community forum, which contained angered SWITHs.

  • "This was shocking, what's up with that person?"
  • "Why is she like that? Crazy."
  • "Is she insane?"
  • "Gasp, she's not joking?"
  • "What's up with her way of speaking? Is she an iljjin (gang leader/bully)?"
  • "Why is she like that? Who does she think she is?"
  • "It's the fact that she followed her all the way to the airport to do this."
  • "Is she her friend? Why is she like that?"

International SWITHs were enraged by the clip and expressed rage over the fan. Meanwhile, others were amused by J's sassy second wave. Here's how they reacted:
