Joy, Yeri Snipe at SM After Red Velvet’s ‘Cosmic’ MV Delay, Less Screentime, More Upsetting Reasons

"But there are many reasons why it's making me upset."

Red Velvet Joy and Yeri weren't able to hold back after SM Entertainment "ruined" their 10th anniversary comeback album.

On June 24, the quintet Red Velvet finally made their much-awaited return as "Summer Queens" with its 9th mini-album, "Cosmic."

As this is the first release by the act in seven months, not to mention that it is a gift to ReVeluvs (fandom) to commemorate their 10th debut anniversary, it is really an important album that shouldn't be missed.

But SM Entertainment just had to "ruin" this special day for the group and their fans ReVeluvs after it was revealed that after about half an hour passed since the expected release time, the MV release would be delayed.

The label then cited that it was "due to final touches to improve the video's quality."

However, as this wasn't the first time that SM Entertainment has done this to Red Velvet, ReVeluvs were not buying their "excuse" anymore.

On social media, fans expressed their anger at the label, but they were not the only ones who were disappointed - even the members themselves!

Joy and Yeri took to the fandom-communicating platform Bubble to convey their frustration with the label and hinted at what really happened behind the delay.

Joy reacted to her few solo screentime in the MV. Despite addressing the issue to the RED Production (SM's center), they still released the music video without any changes, stating that the label ignored their opinions.

In particular, she replied with a "smiling face with tear" emoji when a fan pointed out that she barely had solo screentime and when asked to review the MV, she said:

"I don't know... they didn't listen to our opinions at all and just told us to wait, but I am watching the music video with no changes at all."

She added:

"I can't say anything more than this, so I will stay silent."

When fans tried to comfort her, she confided to them and vented:

"It's our 10th-anniversary album... This is an album in which I poured all my love all night long for several months, so I guess it's not that easy to take it out from my heart that easily.

Please let me do this just for this day."

Aside from her, Yeri also talked about being frustrated with their 10th debut anniversary comeback.

"Ha, the album cover... the resolution is... I am asking what happened.

This is our 10th anniversary comeback so I only want to share good feelings with ReVeluvs, but there are many reasons why it's making me upset.

I'm on my way to another schedule that's why I'm trying to contain my emotions.

Nevertheless, I'm happy to be able to share 'Cosmic' with ReVeluvs."
