Former LOONA member Chuu has named which K-pop soloist is her role model.
On June 25, 2024, Chuu made her much-anticipated solo comeback with her second mini-album, "Stawberry Rush," with a lead single of the same name. This marks eight months since the release of her first mini-album, "Howl," and four months since her last single release, "Chocolate."
"Strawberry Rush" is tightly connected to "Howl," as the two share the same worldview. The album recalls precious childhood dreams and memories that have been forgetting while chasing after a goal in the routine reality.
The lead single is an electro-pop song with a dream synth sound paired with a rhythmic melody. The fun lyrics compliment Chuu's positive energy and feelings.
Chuu excels not only as a singer but also actively participates in entertainment programs. On top of that, the idol is also interested in delving more into acting.
Reflecting on her diverse fan base, she expressed, “Some people become fans through broadcasts, others through LOONA's activities, and some through my solo projects. I have many dreams and wish to showcase my growth through various ventures. Acting is also something I wish to explore, as it will allow me to engage with fans through different avenues in the future.”
During her press conference, Chuu named IU as her biggest role model. Chuu admires IU's ability to shine in multiple fields beyond singing.
She wishes to emulate IU's success, stating, “Though I'm still learning, I aim to follow IU's footsteps and progress step by step. I attended her concert where she warmly embraced me backstage. Given the opportunity, I'd love to attend her concert again. I want to impress her one day.”
Chuu initially made her acting debut through the web drama “Dating Class” early in her career.
The idol reminisced on that time fondly, stating, “It was a memorable experience that sparked my curiosity about acting. Since then, I've been studying acting by watching dramas and movies. I find it rewarding to observe myself on screen while preparing for my albums. The process of considering how my expressions, angles, and actions translate on screen motivates me to pursue acting more seriously.”
