Jaejoong Opens Up About THIS Former Co-Member: 'He's Painful Memory To Me But...'

Is Kim Jaejoong still on good terms with JYJ and TVXQ?

The 2nd-gen recently opened up on his relationship with Junsu and former members Yoochun, Changmin, and Yunho.

On June 25, K-pop icon JYJ and soloist Kim Jaejoong sat down with the Korean press for an interview, commemorating his 20th debut anniversary.

At the same time, he met with the media to promote his newly released regular album, "FLOWER GARDEN," unveiled on June 26 in celebration of his milestone.

During the interview, Jaejoong recalled his past activities as a TVXQ member, honestly talking about his recent relationship with his former groupmates.

"Looking back, we have actually lived solo for much longer than we have done as a team. But when I saw how the members are doing now, I thought to myself, 'Thank goodness they are all doing well.'

For example, Changmin has started a family, and when I see that, I think, 'He's creating his own happiness and self-worth.' Everyone seems to be doing well, so when I look at them, I have this realization that 'I shouldn't fall behind and live diligently."

While on the topic, the media then mentioned Yoochun who had been with him during their TVXQ days until they left SM Entertainment to continue as a trio with Junsu.

In the past, talking about him is frowned upon, given his past controversies, such as his sexual assault accusations and illegal drug use.

In 2019, C-Jes announced that Yoochun would be retiring from the entertainment scene following his drug scandal. He would take it back and is currently promoting overseas.

For the first time after many years, Jaejoong opened up about Yoochun and drew the line by saying that he hadn't been in contact with him since his controversies. He answered:

"I don't know where that guy (Yoochun) is or even which country he is in. I haven't contacted him since (the drug incident)."

Despite cutting connections with him, Jaejoong revealed that deep in his heart, he has a lot of regrets about how it ended, as well as he's still reminded of their precious memories together.

"I have lamented a lot over him, too. From his perspective, he should be living diligently, too. He's a painful memory to me and in fact, my heart aches a little.

In the past, when I talked about time machines, I would answer, 'I like the present, so I won't go.'

But if I am given a chance, I would like to go back to before that incident happened. I would like to talk (with him) properly one more time."

Jaejoong continued:

"I don't want to say this to those who love me as an individual, but to those who love me, including our past, you would know that our memories from that time are too precious and memories that I don't want to erase.

As a person, don't you want to see him living in a slightly better environment? We were like family, so it's really regretful."
