Popular 2nd-Gen Idol Reveals He Was 'Fired' As MC of His Show for Younger Star: 'I Thought It Was A Prank'

In a show, this second-gen idol revealed that he was laid off from work after a program decided to replace him with a 4th-gen star. How did he react?

Recently, The Boyz Eric and Younghoon appeared as guests for ZE: A Kwanghee's web entertainment show, "Butler Kwang," uploaded on its official YouTube channel, "Pulmuone."

On this day, Kwanghee warmly welcomed his two juniors and raised the topic of them being rising MCs.

However, during the talk, he opened up on his real feelings after receiving a sudden notice of departure from another program he used to host — later on finding out he was replaced by Eric!

The senior idol started:

"I don't usually talk about this, but (Eric) is such a rising entertainer. Please take this all out of the script. Else he would be sitting here before you know it. It'll be in a flash. Without you knowing!"

When Younghoon defended Eric and stated that he also has his own YouTube channel, "Eric's Gift Box," Kwanghee felt frustrated and that's time the junior idol stated:

"When I became the MC of Eric's 'The Gift Box,' I called Kwanghee. 'It's my individual YouTube show.' He said, 'Oh, what is it?' I replied, 'The YouTube channel that you did before. I think I will be the new MC.' And he went, 'So you are the one who stole my job!"

Hearing this, Kwanghee recalled what happened at the time and narrated:

"I was so speechless. Coincidentally, they were suddenly talking about me quitting. It was doing well. Even the view number was great. But then you made an appearance."

In 2023, Kwanghee was hosting the web show, "Domestic Gift Factory," to which Eric appeared as a guest in November last year.

The idol continued:

"I was doing so well, suddenly they told me they were ending it. So I told them I got it and asked them who they would be working with. They told me they are preparing with a great person."

Kwanghee then revealed his true feelings, adding:

"I was throwing out pretty words inside. Let's see how good it will be without me. But then it's Eric. I thought it was a prank. I drank a lot at the time. Then I went to repent by joining the Friday service. I asked to be forgiven for cussing others."

Despite initial thoughts, Eric then clarified that Kwanghee didn't make him feel apologetic but actually cheered on him, saying:

"But he even gave me a lot of advice. He told me that since I have a lot of energy and am bright, as long as I become myself, people will like me. I think because of that I enjoy filming 'The Gift Box' a lot. "

The second-gen star then joked that he also learned his lesson not to invite talented kids anymore, ruining Eric's attempt at a warm ending.

In response, Eric playfully implied that he plans to "steal" his new show to which Kwanghee jokingly replied:

"I really will k*** you if you do that."

Realizing what he said, Kwang immediately apologized to The B (The Boyz fandom), saying:

"Aren't I so childish? I told him that I would kill him. The B, please understand me."
