In a viral clip that spread on social media, Beomgyu was seen limping outside the HYBE building. The clip generated a mass outcry from fans of the idol, who protested against HYBE's alleged mistreatment amid Beomgyu's poor health condition.
Earlier on June 19, BIGHIT MUSIC officially announced that Beomgyu had paid a visit to the hospital after suffering from an injury. The idol was diagnosed with a sprained ankle, which led the agency to limit activities that can lead to strain.
"Beomgyu was diagnosed with an ankle sprain, an ankle ligament injury to be exact. Based on the advice of medical professionals, it was required for Beomgyu to rest and recover. Thus, he will not be participating in some of his scheduled activities, including Paris Fashion Week."
The agency continued that although Beomgyu has declared his willingness to continue his schedules with TXT, it was ultimately decided that his recovery be prioritized. BIGHIT MUSIC then concluded with an assurance of his recovery and hopeful return to fans.
"Beomgyu has shown his determination to complete his schedules. However, we have decided to adjust his participation to focus on his recovery and follow the advice of the medical staff. We will do our best to support Beomgyu in his recovery so he can return to fans in good health."
However, on social media platform X (Twitter), fans were enraged to see Beomgyu limping outside the HYBE building without any assistance from company staff.
Though the idol has improved, fans argued that Beomgyu still couldn't walk properly. They called out the HYBE's alleged mistreatment and pointed out that it was frustrating to see Beomgyu take a cab alone instead of being provided with transportation from the company.
