Yuri has taken the spotlight on social media for her actions on Jeju Island, which many deemed as dangerous and reckless. Additionally, the Korean media highlighted the possibility of the idol having to pay a penalty fine.
SONEs are aware that the "FOREVER 1" singer is currently spending her time at Jeju Island. The idol has also been consistent in updating fans regarding her trip through clips and photos. However, Yuri made buzz across online communities for her actions in one of her posts.
On July 24, Korean news outlet Sports Chosun released a report revealing now-deleted photos of Yuri standing and lying down over a pile of rocks. The rocks were then revealed to be tetrapods, which are concrete structures established near the water and are used to dispel strong waves.
The outlet also stressed that casualties can also occur and that the chances of falling under the concrete structure are high. In the case of an unfortunate accident, climbing back up and escaping from the pile would be difficult.
According to sources, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in Korea imposes a fine that is estimated up to ₩1 million won (KRW), which is also equivalent to $721 dollars (USD).
