Stray Kids Achieves Historic Feat In Billboard 200 With Album 'ATE' — See Details Here

Stray Kids made their mark on Billboard this 2024 with their latest album, "ATE," becoming the first group to achieve this on the music chart. Billboard also disclosed the achievement itself, prompting the reactions of overjoyed STAYs.

On July 19, Stray Kids released their ninth mini album, ATE, with the title track "Chk Chk Boom." Apart from the main song, ATE also contained the side tracks "MOUNTAINS," "JJAM," "I Like It," "Runners," "Twilight," "Stray Kids," and the Festival version of "Chk Chk Boom."

Billboard also released a breakdown of the results. According to music and entertainment data provider Luminate, "ATE" collected 232,000 equivalent album units for the week ending July 25.The album garnered a 218,000 figure for its traditional album sales, alongside 13,000 streaming equivalent album units, equivalent to 19.05 million audio streams.

Moreover, it also collected 1,000 track equivalent album units. With this achievement, Billboard disclosed that Stray Kids has become the first group to debut five releases at No. 1 on the Top 200 albums. The group also became the second artist to accomplish the feat, following rapper DMX from 1998 to 2003.

In other news, Stray Kids shared their experience working with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the music video for "Chk Chk Boom." The members revealed that they were the ones to reach out first and also expressed awe at being in the same space with the two stars.

"We connected while we were in the U.S. for other reasons and we're grateful to them," Stray Kids stated. "Even seeing us together in the frame on screen, it's hard to believe we're in the same space. It felt like CGI."
