Suspicions about HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk's interest in aespa's Karina emerged after certain "proofs" gained attention among K-Netizens in an online community. 

On August 9, an OP took to Nate Pann to discuss about HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk's ideal type.

This drew attention among netters after he was recently spotted walking with two Afreeca TV BJs, including the 24-year-old Juicy Seyeon on the streets of Beverly Hills in LA. 

When this spread among K-pop stans and web commenters, Bang, who is 52 years old earned sour reactions for hanging out with women who were younger than him by 28 years. A lot called him "disgusting" as they are the same age as his artist LE SSERAFIM whom he treated like "daughters." 

As speculations about Bang's relationship with one of the BJs arose, discussions about his ideal type resurfaced. The original post recalled a past relationship Bang had with a woman 25 years younger than him. 

Just then, the OP randomly mentioned aespa Karina and implied:

"She has a long and slender body, has a small, egg-shaped face. At first, she looks like Karina before her debut."

The author also noted that Juicy Seyeon mentioned in a previous broadcast that she admired Karina and wanted to be like her.

Furthermore, the post highlighted how Bang Si Hyuk debuted the virtual group SYNDI8, whose member Canary has a style and Korean name similar to Karina's.

Even Canary's height, MBTI, and stage costumes were said to overlap with the aespa member. 

The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 144k views with 381 recommendations. Some commenters speculated that Bang might be "obsessed" with Karina, stating: 

• "So that's why you wanted to step on aespa? Is it a bit of an otaku mindset where you say you'll destroy them if you can't have them? Either way, it's really gross; I wish Suga would get a DUI or something."
