K-Netz Furious After Late Sulli Was Mentioned to Hate on Yves: 'It's Really Disgusting'

In an online forum, former LOONA Yves became the target of a ridiculous claim about the late Sulli. What happened?

On Aug. 25th, an OP took to Nate Pann to accuse Yves of copying the late Sulli. In the article, a comparison between the two idols was made, analyzing their similarities in physical appearance, mannerisms, attitude, and more.

The original poster said:

"She looks more like Dasom than Sulli, but does she really want to look like Sulli instead?"

The author continued:

"I was surprised because when Yves did an Instagram live, Sulli's unique way of speaking and facial expressions were exactly the same as when she did a live broadcast. It feels like she's trying to copy Sulli's philtrum pressed together when she speaks. (But) Sulli is so pretty."

Upon posting, it amassed about 230,000 views, sparking a heated discussion among K-Netz.

Apparently, the uploader came from a misogynist community and is hating Yves for allegedly using feminist slang two years ago. In the comments, there are netters who agreed, saying:

"I'll tell you. She's not on the internet either. When Yves laughs, she looks like Sulli. She sees Sulli in her face. She probably thinks to herself, 'Hey, do I look like Sulli?'

She searches for Sulli on YouTube and watches Sulli's videos and pictures, and she's imitating Sulli more and more.

She copies the way she speaks, her expressions, her actions, and her hairstyle. It's creepy. In reality, she's like the Temu version of Sulli who's dropped her on the street a few times."

Seeing this, K-Netz are furious that they even used the late Sulli's name to hate Yves, and is doing the same thing that people did before the former idol took her life due to severe malicious comments.

As a result, netters defended Yves and Sulli and wrote comments:

  • "But it's disgusting to bring in the deceased just to criticize others."
  • "I'm not sure if Yves is following her, but even if she did, what's wrong with that? It's not like styling is a patent or something that can't be violated.
  • "When Sulli was alive, they pushed her to k*ll herself, but now that she's gone, they're praising her and using her to slander other celebrities."
  • "Once they set their coordinates, they torment them until they d*e, and when something goes wrong, they ask, 'Who did that?' and reply, 'I didn't do that.' They just disappear. It's so disgusting."

Meanwhile, Yves debuted in 2017 as a member of LOONA. While they established international popularity, the group's future became uncertain when nine members applied for an injunction to suspend the contract with Blockberry Creative in November 2022.

In January 2023, she lost the case and ended up leaving the group to go solo. She made her solo debut in May this year with the EP, "Loop."
