"We were notified that Taeil was sued for a criminal case involving a sexual crime," the agency shared. "We realized the seriousness of the matter and determined that he can no longer continue his activities with the group."

The agency added, "Taeil has given his full cooperation with the police investigation."

The K-pop community was left in shock due to the news. Online, numerous threads and reactions have been let out by many fans, who directed their anger at Taeil and his actions.

The public also caught wind of a netizen claiming to be the idol's victim for six years, fueling the outrage against the former NCT member. This was followed by Bangbae Police Station confirming that the victim was an adult woman.

Due to the ongoing heat, netizens discovered that on September 5, Taeil had officially set his Instagram to private.

But some were also disturbed about the abundant amount of followers in his account despite the seriousness of the controversy and offense. Ever since the issue erupted, posts claim that Taeil has lost nearly 1 million followers.
