Baekhyun Apologizes After Leaked Smoking Video: 'Unaware That It Was Prohibited'

EXO Baekhyun issued his apology following the criticism from fans due to his leaked video of indoor smoking in Macau.

On Sept. 16th, INB100 released a statement regarding its CEO and artist's vaping issue. This was after a smoking clip and photos of Baekhyun circulated on SNS and online communities earlier on the same day.

Apparently, these were taken during the K-pop icon's after-performance party in Macau, and the place was rented by the idol to celebrate along with his staff privately. However, someone took photographs and recordings of what happened inside without the star's consent, which were eventually leaked online.

The singer ended up being targeted by negative comments from K-Netz. While many fans also blamed the one responsible for the leakage, Baekhyun took to his company's official account to make a public apology for what happened.

Here he clarified that he was unaware of the rules and regulations of the place about e-smoking and apologized for disappointing fans for his careless behavior.

Here's EXO Baekhyun's full apology:

"Hello. This is INB100.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable by the video of indoor smoking of our artist Baekhyun, which is currently spreading online.

At the time, Baekhyun and our staff were completely unaware that e-cigarettes are prohibited in Macau. In the midst of this, during a meal with the staff after the performance in Macau, Baekhyun unconsciously used a vape as the conversation got more heated.

We and Baekhyun will be even more careful to prevent this from happening again in the future, and we promise not to let down fans with this situation.

We will also do our best to show a more mature side of ourselves, moving forward.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for upsetting and causing discomfort to many people. We are really sorry."
