Lee Seung Gi and CNBLUE Jung Yong Hwa brought back the OG "Hallyu Wave" feels after making a surprise duet of ECLIPSE's "Sudden Shower."
On Sept. 16th, the premiere of KBS 2TV's new regular variety show, "Synchro U" was aired, hosted by a star-studded MC team Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juck, SEVENTEEN Hoshi, aespa Karina, and more.
This show aims to identify the real singers versus AI vocals. On its first episode, an impressive lineup of top-tier singers also made their appearances, flaunting a 99 percent synchro rate with their computer-generated covers.

But what truly sent viewers into a frenzy was the surprising duet between "Ballad Prince" Lee Seung Gi and 2nd-gen leader Jung Yong Hwa, who sang 2024's high-rating K-Drama, "Lovely Runner" hit OST, "Sudden Shower."
Originally sung by the current "Asia Prince" Byeon Woo Seok, the singer-actor delivered emotional yet heavenly vocals as the main vocalist of the fictional K-pop group, ECLIPSE.
But this time, the second-gen singers served a heart-fluttering and nostalgic atmosphere instead, mesmerizing the audience with their unmatched vocals, facial expressions, and visuals. Prior to their face reveal, some of the panels even thought that their original voices were AI vocals.
Upon their unexpected collab, the duet performance became a hot topic on SNS and online communities, raving over the two idols.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi established the "Hallyu Wave" in Asia with his drama, "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, while Jung Yong Hwa raised his popularity through the hit drama, "Heartstrings."
