The K-pop community is discussing Min Hee Jin's revelation regarding NewJeans' album production.
On September 25, K-netz established a forum titled, "NewJeans' Upcoming Full Album Plan and Fan Meeting Are On Halt." According to the post, the author shared an interview excerpt from JoongAng Ilbo, which tackled Min Hee Jin's seven-year plan for NewJeans.
Question: "In an interview with the Japanese media, you stated that 'NewJeans has a 7-year plan and we're going to surprise fans with albums every year.' Was the plan disrupted by the current conflict?"
Min Hee Jin: "There was a big setback. I was dismissed while preparing a surprise fan meeting for Korean fans. The vice presidents were also removed and blocked from their duties, then the production of the next album was halted. It was unfortunate. This is also a part of HYBE's interference with NewJeans' activities."
Both K-netz and international fans expressed their frustration with the interview and overall conflict. Read their comments below:
- "Wow HYBE is giving me goosebumps."
- "Entertainment reporters need to seriously reflect. Stop siding with a company that's willing to ruin the careers of kids who aren't even 20 years old."
- "So it's true that HYBE doesn't even care about their careers. What can the girls even do if they never planned to protect them?"
- "Trash company, stop blocking NewJeans."
- "NewJeans exit era coming soon. Seriously, leaving is probably the best-case scenario here."
