As Jessi continues to be blamed and cyberbullied for her acquaintance's action, her fans are accusing the Korean media and K-netz of being sexist as she gets more criticism than the one who did the assault on an 18-year-old boy.

On October 11, it was revealed that producer Koala, Jessi's acquaintance, harmed a student after the idol politely refused to take a photo with him.

In a CCTV footage released, it was shown that the star tried to stop the commotion. But when the incident escalated, she left.

Since then, Jessi has been accused of abandoning her fan, which also led the police to summon her as the victim's family filed a case against her for allegedly concealing the perpetrator's identity and fleeing from the scene. She was interrogated for six hours.

On October 18, Jessi was announced to have parted ways with her label DOD of her own accord.

Following the incident, and with her being seen trying to mollify the situation, she was heavily criticized for her personality. Korean netizens began claiming that she's the "problem."

Meanwhile, as these unpleasant events happened to Jessi in just a week, the one who assaulted the teenager remains free and is being protected to the extent that his real face is blurred out from the surveillance footage.

Seeing this, Jessi's fans couldn't contain their frustrations, and mentioned the blatant sexism and misogyny.

While the man who did the assault could easily pay the fine and move on, fans noted that what he did ruined Jessi's image and career, not to mention how it could affect her mental health after carrying all the hate thrown at her.
