The internet was put in a fragile state after hearing Wendy and Paul Klein singing "Malibu Nights" together—and yes, two amazing singers singing the heartbreaking line "What do you do with a broken heart?" was everything we needed!
The Red Velvet main vocalist welcomed the LANY frontman in her SBS radio show "Youngstreet" on November 11. The band also teased Paul Klein's guest appearance through its official Instagram account four days prior.
In the latest episode, Klein sat to play the keyboards while Wendy remained on the host's seat. The two then sang a duet of LANY's hit "Malibu Nights," creating a poignant atmosphere in the studio with the duo's combined vocals.
Over X (formerly Twitter), ReVeluvs (Red Velvet fandom) and music fans quickly expressed their admiration to the two for a mellifluous duet, with many even asking for an official collaboration between them.
One fan wrote, "NEVER ONCE IN A MILLION YEARRRR AAAAAAAA PAUL AND WENDY???????? hell yeaahhhhh"
Another X user said, "the crossover i never thought about."
One ReVeluv then expressed sadness over Wendy's break from music. They said, "Man why sm is putting wendy on such a long hiatus I miss her voice."
Meanwhile, Wendy released her second EP "Wish You Hell" in March this year. It contains 6 tracks — "His Car Isn't Yours," "Best Ever," "Better Judgment," "Queen of the Party," "Vermilion," and the title song of the same name.
The album was a success, making it to South Korean and Japanese charts, and peaking at No. 2 on Circle Chart.
