Fans were surprised by the collaboration announcement of BTS Jin and Red Velvet Wendy. However, the news sparked tension between ARMYs and other fandoms.
According to Korean news outlet SPOTV News, Red Velvet's main vocalist Wendy will be joining forces with Jin for his upcoming solo album, "Happy," on November 15.
To confirm the reports, BIGHIT MUSIC and SM Entertainment verified that it's true that Wendy has participated in a track for Jin's solo release. "Happy" also has a total of six songs, which are implemented with a band-inspired sound.
Jin and Wendy are two of the biggest names in the K-pop scene, and many fans didn't expect such collaboration between the iconic third-gen idols. It's no surprise that ARMYs and ReVeluvs would get ecstatic over the highly anticipated project!
But one wholesome, now-deleted tweet on X (formerly Twitter) drew attention due to its caption: "For non-K-pop fans, this is like Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga releasing Die With A Smile."
Other fandoms noticed and mocked the statement for being a "stretch," sparking conflict online.
Amid the heat, some decided to simply appreciate the upcoming release.
