ILLIT Fans Accuse Filipino Girl Group BINI of Cheating After Winning 'Best Asia Act' at MTV EMA 2024 ILLIT, BINI/Instagram

GLLITs, the fandom of ILLIT, expressed their disappointment on X after P-Pop girl group BINI snagged the award for MTV EMAs' "Best Asia Act" against the K-pop act.

On Nov. 10th, the MTV Europe Music Awards 2024 (MTV EMAs) was held in the United Kingdom to celebrate this year's best music, celebrities, and culture.

For the first time in history, Filipino girl group BINI took home the trophy for "Best Asia Act," competing against top-tier artists from their respective countries like ILLIT (South Korea), Mahilini (Indonesia), Masdo (Malaysia) and Sakurazaka46 (Japan).

On X and other social media platforms, BINI's supporters, BLOOMs, commemorate the special award when GLLITs ruined the joy as they accuse the fandom and group of cheating.

In particular, the award's criteria were mainly based on voting, and the Korean act's fans claimed that BINI doesn't have an impact the same as ILLIT, called their fanbase "non-existent," and implied that they cheated on the system to win the voting. They can't believe ILLIT lost, when they reigned the global music scene with its hit, "Magnetic."

When GLLITs started targeting BINI, BLOOMs, and other Filo K-pop stans defended them by showing the massive followings the members and their fanbases have. On Spotify, they also have numerous hits such as "Salamin, Salamin," "Pantropiko," "Karera," "Cherry on Top," and "Lagi" — proving their popularity.

With this, Filipino fans also called out GLLITs to stop belittling how supportive and "voting monsters" they are, recalling how even UNIS Gehlee amassed 2.4 million votes to secure her spot in "Universe Ticket," which made history for the highest number of votes in a Korean survival show.
