Prior to WayV's much-awaited comeback, Yangyang earned absurd hate after his teaser images shared similarities with TXT Yeonjun's.
WayV, NCT's China-based subunit, confirmed the release of their 6th mini-album "Frequency" on November 25 with the title track of the same name.
Ahead of its release, the pre-release single "High Five" is set to be unveiled on the 19th. Unfortunately, Winwin will have to sit out of this comeback due to a conflict in his filming schedules for a drama in China.
Despite that, the remaining five members (originally seven) continuously teased the album by dropping respective image teasers. So far, two photo sets have been unveiled as of the 13th, WayV unleashing their deviant and dark charms.
While WayZenNies (fandom) celebrated the teaser drop, Yangyang drew attention as his photos were the only ones with hateful comments, other K-pop fandom particularly mentioning TXT Yeonjun.
Apparently, MOAs (TXT fans) recognized the resemblance of Yangyang's photos with Yeonjun's concept photos from his solo mixtape, "GGUM," released first in September.
From their poses to having sneakers and gum as the main element, Yeonjun supporters were truly offended since the mixtape is close to the male idol and fans' hearts, recalling the time and effort he exerted to complete it.

But as the matter intensified, WayZenNies retaliated that Yangyang shouldn't be blamed here especially about the pose since it has been one of her signature gestures since his debut.
Regarding the gum concept, the fandom then criticized MOAs for making it a big deal, when other NCT sub-units like NCT Dream and 127 had been using this element even before the TXT member. They implied that no one owns the theme since it's common in the K-pop world.
WayV fans continued that if they want to blame someone, snipe at SM Entertainment who does the planning of the group's concept and teasers.
